Deputy Chief Border Agent Raul Ortiz revealed that U.S. Border Patrol agents have already apprehended 120,000 people crossing the border this year.
Clearly, there is a crisis at the border.
Fox News reported that Obama’s former immigration officials agree with President Trump. Former Obama administration officials are publicly agreeing with President Trump’s assessment that there is a crisis at the southern border — even as some Democrats downplay the situation and oppose Trump’s declaration of a national emergency.
The latest comments have, in turn, fueled a debate in Washington growing more heated by the day, as the president weighs hardline measures like closing the border. During a conference call Tuesday with reporters, Homeland Security officials declared: “The system is on fire.”
The current crisis has been brewing for well over a decade.

Ortiz said that it’s not just about the 120,000 immigrants they’ve caught illegally crossing our borders should concern Americans, it’s the 25,000 illegal aliens who’ve snuck past border patrol agents, thanks to the lack of a border wall and other funds needed to secure the border.
Ortiz went on to say, “We actually don’t know who they are. So far, here in South Texas, we’ve apprehended folks from 44 different countries. These are from the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, you name it. Uh…we continue to see some increases in those numbers. Most of the people we apprehend are from Central America, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. But we do see folks from across the world, and probably, by the end of the year, I would venture to say that number, will get as high as 60 different countries we will apprehend people from.” Deputy Chief Border Agent Ortiz warned, “Those are the people who are trying to get away from us.”
