President Trump called out Congressional Democrats on Friday, following a visit to the US-Mexico border in California, where he met with Border Patrol agents to discuss the growing numbers of migrants flooding into the country.
“The crisis is a direct result of obstruction by Democrats and Congress,” said Trump, adding, “we have to do something about it.”

The president appeared to walk back remarks made earlier in the week, in which he implied a “one-year warning” to Mexico before potentially closing the border, remarking he could close the border in one day during his Friday trip.
Trump and his Democrat opponents have sparred continuously over the issue of border security, leading to a divided DC, a government shutdown, and the declaration of a national emergency.
