After voting to impeach Trump, Liz Cheney picks up 2022 GOP Primary Opponent

After voting to impeach Trump as one of the only 10 Republican lawmakers to join Democrats, Rep. Liz Cheney has picked up a primary opponent.

Wyoming State Senator Anthony Bouchard announced his candidacy Wednesday with the FEC.

Bouchard wrote on Facebook January 15th:

I expect Never Trumpers to do this stuff and CNN to play along. But Cheney should be run out of town, and back to Virginia for joining the blame game! “…Sullivan also captured himself on video which he provided to the FBI making statements indicating support of the rioters. According to the affidavit, after breaking through barricades outside of the Capitol building, he can be heard stating “We accomplished this s***. We did this together. F**k yeah! We are all a part of this history,” and “Let’s burn this s**t down.”..

Cheney voting to impeach Trump resulted in quite a bit of pushback from several Republicans.

Rep. Matt Gaetz tweeted “Liz Cheney should not be the Chair of the Republican Conference.”
