3 House Dems reject donations to their campaign from AOC

At least 3 House Democrats have returned donations made to them from AOC.

According to multiple reports Reps. Carolyn Bourdeaux of Georgia, Conor Lamb of Pennsylvania and Elissa Slotkin of Michigan have rejected a $5,000 donation from AOC and have either said they have declined the initial transfer or have vowed to return the money.

Per Politico “Some members whose campaigns got unexpected Ocasio-Cortez cash are seeking answers directly from DCCC Chair Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-N.Y.) and his top staffers. DCCC aides gave lawmakers’ wire transfer information to Ocasio-Cortez’s aides without the approval of more senior officials, according to multiple people familiar with the contributions.”

Some vulnerable Democrats are afraid their contribution from AOC could be turned into a Republican attack ad.

Even if they reject AOC’s contribution, Politico reports that her “name is almost certain to show up on their Federal Election Commission reports when they’re due this month.”

This could be a liability in districts where AOC’s far-left political brand is not popular.
