Andrew Yang suggests phone bar code for those who have been vaccinated

Friday, former 2020 candidate Andrew Yang tweeted “Is there a way for someone to easily show that they have been vaccinated – like a bar code they can download to their phone? There ought to be.”

He added “Tough to have mass gatherings like concerts or ballgames without either mass adoption of the vaccine or a means of signaling.”

“I’ve been tested at a photo shoot or interview and gotten a bracelet showing I was negative. Then we could interact more freely.”

Some felt the idea sounded like a dystopian nightmare.

One Twitter user replied “I’d sacrifice concerts and ballgames before I’d sacrifice individual liberties and freedoms. Give an inch to the govt now, and they’ll stretch it a mile.”

Another wrote “Not really. You just have to let people assess their own risks and make their own decisions. You know, treat them like adult citizens and not subjects.”

Stephen Miller wrote “Might want to rethink this one before running for mayor of the city with the largest concentration of Jewish population in the country.”

“Have you ever had a history class? Something from the WWII era, perhaps?”
