White Voice actor Mike Henry will no longer be voicing “Cleveland” on Family Guy.
Henry tweeted:
It’s been an honor to play Cleveland on Family Guy for 20 years. I love this character, but persons of color should play characters of color. Therefore, I will be stepping down from the role.

The move comes after Actress Kristen Bell, known for her starring roles in “Veronica Mars” and “The Good Place” announced she will no longer voice a mixed-race character “Molly” for the series “Central Park.”
Bell calls the decision to play the role an “act of complicity” that “shows a lack of awareness of my pervasive privilege.”
