Harris tells young student who told her “I thought you was a boy” that “I’m the first Vice President who’s a girl, not a boy”

While visiting a bilingual D.C. early childhood education school, Vice President Harris told a young student “I’m the first Vice President who’s a girl, not a boy…But I won’t be the last one.”

The student had appeared to say “I thought you was a boy.”

Harris later released a montage video of her trip and wrote “Yesterday, I met students at CentroNía in Washington D.C. These children are a reminder that the children in our nation are capable of anything and everything. And it is our responsibility to remind them how special they are and how important they are to us as a community.”
