WATCH: Tucker blasts protesters pulling down statues “These people are idiots”

In a recent segment of his popular Fox News show, Tucker Carlson blasted protesters pulling down statues as “idiots.”

“These people are idiots,” Carlson said. “The angry children you watch set fire to Wendy’s and topple statues and scream at you on television day after day are truly and utterly stupid. There’s probably never been a dumber group gathered in one place in all of American history. They’re mouth-breathers, they know nothing.”

Per Washington Examiner, statues commemorating former Presidents George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Andrew Jackson have all been targeted during the protests.

Carlson accused protesters who tore down monuments dedicated to anti-slavery figures thought the word “abolitionist” referred to “a band from the ’80s.”

“They say they oppose racism, and then they rip down monuments to abolitionists,” Carlson continued. “They don’t see the contradiction in that because they have no idea who the abolitionists were. They think it’s a band from the ’80s.”

Per Bloomberg, President Trump promised executive action by the end of the week to protect monuments after some statues of Confederates and other historical figures with checkered life stories were angrily brought down from parks and other places of public prominence.
