Psaki under fire after claiming Americans “are not” stranded in Afghanistan

During a contentious exchange with Peter Doocey, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claims “I think it’s irresponsible to say Americans are stranded. They are not.”

Doocey then responded “‘There are no Americans stranded’ is the White House’s official position on what’s happening in Afghanistan right now?”

Rep. Byron Donalds wrote:

I heard that you said that it is irresponsible to say that Americans are stranded in Flag of Afghanistan.

Well, Jen, it is irresponsible to deceive the American people into thinking otherwise.

FYSA: Stranded: adj, which means to be left without the means to move from somewhere.

Katie Pavlich wrote “I got off the phone with someone this morning desperately trying to get people out. This is a blood boiling lie.”

CNN’s Jake Tapper said in response to Psaki’s comments “There are no doubt Americans who feel stranded in Afghanistan right now.”

Dinesh D’Souza wrote “This level of dishonesty is almost beyond belief.”

Marsha Blackburn wrote “Many Americans are trapped behind terrorist lines and unable to get to the Kabul airport. I’d call that stranded.”
