WATCH: Packed House at Sammy’s Mexican Restaurant After Trump Tweets Support

Yesterday, TCO reported Jorge and Betty Rivas, latino legal immigrant restaurant owners of Sammy’s Mexican grill in Phoenix, Arizona are facing hatred, threats and bad reviews for their support of President Trump.

However, the two naturalized citizens did not back down and appeared in a defiant video.

President Trump himself tweeted his support, writing:

The food is GREAT at Sammy’s Mexican Grill in Phoenix, Arizona. Congratulations to Betty & Jorge Rivas on doing such a wonderful job. I will try hard to stop by the next time I am in Phoenix. Support Sammy’s! @foxandfriends

It now looks like business is booming for the couple.

Monica Garcia tweeted:

Packed house here at Sammy’s Mexican restaurant in Tucson (Catalina) after @realDonaldTrump tweeted about them yesterday and thanking the owners for their support.

In a separate tweet Garcia wrote:

“I migrated when there was an actual civil war”restaurant owner got backlash for supporting @realDonaldTrump. Born in El Salvador, granted political asylum in 1980s, Rivas says he isn’t bothered by Trump’s policies blocking most asylum seekers from Central America.
