WATCH: Oregon school board votes to ban BLM, pride flags

Newberg school district in Oregon on Tuesday voted 4-3 to ban pride flags and Black Lives Matter banners, prompting debate and division.

One woman said “The BLM and LGBTQ ideology and curriculum are shattering the innocence of children, promoting racial divide and negatively impacting the lives of our children forever.”

School board director and vice chair Brian Shannon asked the school to bad pride flags and BLM banners and also ban teachers from wearing BLM and Pride clothing while at work.

Fellow Board director Brandy Penner voted against the measure. “This feels so anti-everything,” she said. “Anti-free speech, anti-free expression, anti-safety.”
