WATCH: McConnell “today I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden”

Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell has congratulated Joe Biden as “President-elect” for the first time.

“Yesterday electors met in all 50 states, so, as of this morning, our country has officially a President-elect and a Vice President-elect…” McConnell said.

“The Electoral College has spoken. So today I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden,” he continued.

McConnell also said “beyond our differences, all Americans can take pride that our nation has a female vice president-elect for the very first time.”

President Trump has yet to concede to Biden and his team’s legal challenges continue despite Biden receiving over 270 electoral votes Monday. A joint session of Congress will certify the electoral vote January 6th.
