Speaking in California during the weekend, 2020 Democrat presidential hopeful John Hickenlooper was booed by liberals in the audience, following his remarks on his party’s embrace of socialism.
“If we want to beat Donald Trump, and achieve big progressive goals, socialism is not the answer,” said Hickenlooper, eliciting boos from the crowd.
Hickenlooper, who is polling near the bottom of the substantially packed pool of would-be Democrat candidates, has sought to portray himself as a moderate after announcing his White House bid.

Social media commenters noted that the reaction to Hickenlooper’s anti-socialism remarks from California liberals was hardly surprising.
This is exactly why the electoral college works. The crazy California left would push socialism.

Socialism is NOT the answer. Talk to the people of Venezuela and see how well that’s worked for them.

California is a terrible place. Get out while you still can.

Democrats have become way too cozy with socialism.
The political language continues to soften around radical leftist ideas, and it goes over many people’s heads.
