WATCH: Left-wing activist who said he was there to “document” faces charges in Capitol riot

John Sullivan, a left-wing activist who told Fox News last week he followed a pro-Trump mob into the Capitol in order to “document” the siege is the subject of a criminal complaint in connection with his alleged participation, according to the U.S. Justice Department.

Per MassLive “the 26-year-old man currently faces federal charges for storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. He’s being charged with one felony count of interfering with law enforcement in connection with a civil disorder, as well as misdemeanor charges of unlawful entry and disorderly conduct, according to court documents.”

The report adds “in an interview with Rolling Stone, and other news outlets, Sullivan claims to have purposely attempted to fit in with the mob of insurrectionists to capture footage of the attack on film, as he considers himself a journalist that films protests.”

Sullivan however admitted he does not possess authentic press credentials, nor is he tied to any journalistic organization or news company.
