WATCH: Katie Porter recalls hiding with AOC during the Capitol Riot, says AOC said “I hope I get to be a mom, I hope I don’t die today”

Appearing on MSNBC, Rep. Katie Porter recalled hiding with AOC during the U.S. Capitol riot in her office.

“I’m a mom. I’m calm. I have everything we need. We can live for like a month in this office,” Porter recalled she said  “and she said, ‘I hope I get to be a mom, I hope I don’t die today.'”

Discussing the aftermath of the event, AOC revealed on Instagram Live she is a survivor of sexual assault:

“Trauma compounds on each other,” she said.

AOC then said Ted Cruz and others are deploying “the tactics of abusers” in denying GOP responsibility for the insurrection.

“I’m not going to let it happen to me again … and I’m not going to let it happen to our country,” she vowed.
