Discussing the results of a recent poll during Tuesday’s episode of ABC’s “The View,” co-host Joy Behar implied that American voters will “come around” to the concept of socialism.
When co-host Meghan McCain noted that, according to the poll, “only 25 percent of Americans are comfortable with a socialist becoming president,” Behar quickly suggested that voters will “come around” to the concept, eventually.
The two co-hosts delved into an argument regarding the definition of socialism in American politics, proving that the very concept continues to prove polarizing in the country’s badly divided political landscape.
“I’m just trying to explain: Democratic Socialists could be leading you toward the path of Trump getting re-elected,” McCain told Behar. “Instead, I’m told I don’t understand what a Democratic Socialist is. I assure you, Joy, I do.”
With the 2020 election drawing ever nearer, liberal voters seem increasingly enamored with the concept of socialism, and have embraced a radical shift towards the left leaving Democrat presidential hopefuls scrambling to keep up.
