Despite being asked multiple times by Vice President Pence for clarity on the Biden-Harris position on “packing the court” if Amy Coney Barrett is confirmed, Kamala Harris simply refused to answer the question, instead dodging and talking about other subjects.
Pence introduced the topic by saying “I think the American people really deserve an answer, Sen. Harris. Are you and Joe Biden going to pack the court if Judge Amy Coney Barrett is confirmed?”
In a dodge, Harris instead spoke about Abraham Lincoln and then said “the American people deserve to make the decision about who will be the next president of the United States and then that person can select who will serve for a lifetime on the highest court of our land.”
Pence pressed a second time and said “People are voting right now, they’d like to know if you and Joe Biden are going to pack the Supreme Court if you don’t get your way in this nomination.”
Harris did not answer the question.
Pence then said he wanted it known for the record “she never answered the question.”
He added “maybe in the next debate, Joe Biden will answer the question.”
