Appearing on Fox News Sunday, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham suggested that Vice President Kamala Harris could be impeached if Republicans take back the House after the 2022 elections.
“I thought the impeachment trial was not only unconstitutional, I condemn what happened on January 6, but the process they used to impeach this president was an affront to rule of law,” Graham said.
“We’ve opened Pandora’s Box to future presidents. And if you use this model, I don’t know how Kamala Harris doesn’t get impeached if the Republicans take over the House,” he continued “Because she actually bailed out rioters, and one of the rioters went back to the streets and broke somebody’s head open. So we’ve opened Pandora’s Box here, and I’m sad for the country?”
Graham’s statement was a reference to the Minnesota Freedom Fund. Harris asked her Twitter followers to support organization in June.
Senator Ted Cruz made a similar argument during the trial, asking “using the manager’s proposed standard, is there any coherent way for Donald Trump’s words to be incitement and Kamala Harris’s words not to be incitement?”
