WATCH: Crowd erupts in boos when English soccer players take a knee together

The crowd erupted in boos when English soccer teams Millwall and Derby took a knee together before the match to show their solidarity with the BLM movement.

Millwall manager Gary Rowett said that he was “disappointed” in the crowd’s reaction and said “the club does an enormous amount of work on anti-racism and the club do a lot of work in the community and there is some really positive stuff.”

The English Football Association tweeted a statement condemning the Millwall fans that booed.

“The FA supports all players and staff that wish to take a stand against discrimination in a respectful manner, which includes taking of the knee, and strongly condemns the behaviours of any spectators that actively voice their opposition to such activities.”
