Appearing on CNN, House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn was asked if he supports adding more Supreme Court Justices if Biden wins.
Clyburn replied “I think we need to unpack the Supreme Court. There needs to be balance in the Supreme Court.”
Traditionally “packing the supreme court” has not referred to what President Trump has done in filling vacancies but refers to adding new seats to the court. Clyburn appeared to trying to redefine what “packing the Supreme Court” means in suggesting President Trump has packed the court.
“I think that this court that we see developing now is a throwback to Plessy v. Ferguson and even Dred Scott,” Rep. James Clyburn says to @PoppyHarlowCNN about the Supreme Court, adding that there’s a “massive suppression” of voting rights. https://t.co/43jW3CuQDP pic.twitter.com/0o9t5QCFUX
