President Biden is expected to visit California to campaign for California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) ahead of his Sept. 14 recall election.
Psaki told reporters Biden “will be, I expect we’ll have more to report to all of you, or announce, on a trip he’ll take early next week.”
Per The Hill “Her comments suggest Biden will travel to California on Monday, just a day before Tuesday’s recall election. Biden is scheduled to travel to three memorial sites to mark the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks on Saturday and will spend the remainder of the weekend at his home in Wilmington, Del.”
Last month Newsom was asked “Given what’s happening in Afghanistan right now, and some of the criticism the President’s getting from people within his own party, does that complicate whether or not he’s the right person to have by your side right now?”
“I’m incredibly proud of President Biden. Incredibly enthusiastic to have his support, and looking forward to having him out here,” Newsom responded.
In the coming weeks, President Biden is supposed to travel to California to campaign for @GavinNewsom and help energize voters. But could the situation in Afghanistan could complicate that?
