Progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded to a reporter who asked her about not being put on the Energy and Commerce Committee in the House of Representatives, a role she coveted.
AOC lost out on the prized seat to Rep. Kathleen Rice, a fellow New Yorker. Rice won the lopsided vote 46-13 and several reports indicated that moderate Democrats openly criticized social media star Ocasio-Cortez before the vote.
“Well, it’s tough, always, you always kind of shoot high,” AOC said “you don’t always get what you want and that’s totally understandable.”
She continued to express that she does not have regrets for the stances she has taken.
