While Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went from being a bartender not long to a Congresswoman making six figures and landing a huge Netflix payout, she apparently does not believes others can go from “rags to riches” and railed a the idea of “pulling yourself up by the bootstraps.”
AOC:
This idea of a bootstrap. You know this idea, this metaphor of a bootstrap started off as a joke.
Because, it’s a physical impossibility to lift yourself up by a bootstrap, by your shoelaces. It’s physically impossible!

Lachlan Markay mocked AOC by tweeting:
Long gone are the days when, say, a lower-middle class, outer-borough bartender could ascend to the commanding heights of America’s ruling elite.

What’s more annoying, the fact that less than two years ago she was serving drinks, is now in Congress & cant seem to understand that you CAN “ lift yourself up by the bootstrap” or that she’s always acting like she’s on an episode of Law & Order? For me it’s the latter.
