Friday, Rev. Al Sharpton reacted to Derek Chauvin 22.5-year sentence for the killing of George Floyd by saying “Justice would have been George Floyd never having been killed. Justice would have been the maximum.”
“22 and a half years is longer than we’ve ever got, but shorter than we should have got in the past,” he continued.
“Had they done sentences like this before, maybe Chauvin would not have thought he would have gotten away with it,” he added.
