Wapo Columnist, author says “Paul was right and Fauci was Wrong” on Key Paul claim

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) recently revealed he’ll file a criminal referral against Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Appearing with Sean Hannity Paul said “I will be sending a letter to the Department of Justice asking for a criminal referral, because he has lied to Congress.”

Paul’s specific claim is  Fauci lied about whether the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Paul explained “We have scientists that were lined up by the dozens to say that the research he was funding was gain-of-function. He’s doing this because he has a self-interest to cover his tracks and to cover his connection to Wuhan lab.

“Now does he deserve all the blame? No, there’s still some conjecture as to whether or not it came from the lab. But he’s lying about whether or not he funded gain-of-function research, and yes, he should be punished,” he added.

Paul’s accusation has support from Josh Rogin, Wapo columnist and author of “Chaos Under Heaven: Trump, Xi, and the Battle for the Twenty-First Century” as well as Megyn Kelly.

Rogin wrote “:Hey guys, @RandPaul was right and Fauci was wrong. The NIH was funding gain of function research in Wuhan but NIH pretended it didn’t meet their “gain of function” definition to avoid their own oversight mechanism. SorryNotSorry if that doesn’t fit your favorite narrative.”

Megyn Kelly replied “Exactly right bc he knows the folks at home won’t understand his sleight of hand.”
