The U.S. women upset Brazil to win their first ever gold in indoor Volleyball. The victory was also crucial as it provided the U.S.A. their 39th medal to edge China in the total Gold medal count by exactly 1.
Per NBC Sports “The Americans didn’t lose a set at the Ariake Arena, winning 25-21, 25-20, 25-14 in just under an hour and a half. Michelle Bartsch-Hackley and Andrea Drews combined for 29 of Team USA’s points.”
