Visiting St. Peter’s square New Year’s Eve, Pope Francis became quickly irritated after a woman grabbed his hand too long.
Pope Francis then slapped her grip off to make her let go.
Pope Francis later apologized for losing his patience.
“So many times we lose patience. Me, too,” the Pope said “I say ‘excuse me’ for the bad example.”
Pope Francis also denounced violence against women and said they should be treated with dignity.
