CNN’s Van Jones claimed it took “courage” for Biden to admit he wants to transition from the oil industry during his post-debate anaysis.
After being questioned by Trump, Biden admitted openly he’d “transition from the oil industry…because the oil industry pollutes.”
Trump cut in and said “it’s a big statement” to which Biden replied “because it needs to be replaced by renewable energy over time and i’d stop giving to the oil industry…I’d stop giving them federal subsidies.”
CNN’s Van Jones’ take was “It took courage for Joe Biden to say what he did about the oil industry: he’s committed to transitioning them over time, in a responsible way, to a better business model. He didn’t duck it. That was brave.”
It took courage for @JoeBiden to say what he did about the oil industry: he's committed to transitioning them over time, in a responsible way, to a better business model. He didn't duck it. That was brave. But… that's #JoeBiden. He actually believes in some stuff. #Debates2020 pic.twitter.com/N4Gq4A1BeS
