According to Spectrum News, Universal Orlando said it’s evaluating the in-park experiences in their “Seuss Landing” area, but it will remain open amid news that Dr. Seuss will cease publishing 6 books.
In addition, a Universal Orlando spokesperson confirmed will they will remove Dr. Seuss books from their shelves.
A Universal spokesperson said in a statement “Seuss Landing continues to be very popular with our guests and we value our relationship with Seuss Enterprises.”
The added “we’ve removed the books from our shelves as they have asked and we’ll be evaluating our in-park experience too. But our guests can plan on continuing to be able to enjoy their favorite experiences at Seuss Landing.”
Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced they will stop publishing and licensing six Dr. Seuss authored books because they “portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong.”
“Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprise’s catalog represents and supports all communities and families,” the statement reads.
