On Friday, President Trump described his decision to cancel a planned strike against Iran following the shooting down of an unmanned US drone.
Trump explained that when he asked military advisers present how many deaths would be caused by the strike, he was informed that around 150 people were expected to be killed.
“10 minutes before the strike I stopped it,” Trump said, “not proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone,” adding, “Sanctions are biting [and] more added last night,” while continuing to maintain a strong stance against Iran possessing nuclear weapons.
….On Monday they shot down an unmanned drone flying in International Waters. We were cocked & loaded to retaliate last night on 3 different sights when I asked, how many will die. 150 people, sir, was the answer from a General. 10 minutes before the strike I stopped it, not….

….proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone. I am in no hurry, our Military is rebuilt, new, and ready to go, by far the best in the world. Sanctions are biting & more added last night. Iran can NEVER have Nuclear Weapons, not against the USA, and not against the WORLD!

President Trump’s decision is correct. The United States should communicate with its allies and work with the international community to put pressure on Iran to resolve the crisis through peaceful negotiations.

It was good to stop the strike saving lives. Fighting begets fighting. There are no winners. Only great loss. This is not Gods way.
