Trump Mocks Newsweek Over Article Claiming He Spent Thanksgiving “Tweeting” and “Golfing”

President Trump took to Twitter to Mock Newsweek over their article that claimed he was spending Thanksgiving “tweeting” and “golfing.”

The article was written by Jessica Kwong and was apparently written before Trump’s surprise visit to see troops in Afghanistan.

Donald Trump Jr. had shared the article, comparing “FAKE NEWS VS. REALITY.”

After Trump’s Afghanistan surprise, Kwong deleted the tweet, calling it “an honest mistake.”

Trump headed to Afghanistan to surprise U.S. troops on Thanksgiving https://www.newsweek.com/trump-thanksgiving-plans-maralago-1474518  Deleting this tweet because it was written before knowing about the president’s surprise visit to Afghanistan-an honest mistake. Story has already been updated, as shown in the screenshot.

Many Trump supporters were still upset at the original story and poor reporting.

Peter Sweden responded:

Media: Claims Trump is tweeting and golfing.

Reality: Trump is in Afghanistan feeding the troops a nice Thanksgiving dinner.

Journalists need to do better.

Ian Miles Cheong wrote “Why would you write the story without having any of the facts?”

ALX wrote “The moral of the story would be to REPORT on events as they happen rather than speculate about them.”

And IF you’re going to write about what YOU THINK will happen, put “How ‘I THINK’ Trump will spend Thanksgiving”, not “How IS Trump spending Thanksgiving”. Notice the difference there?

Why would you write a story and tweet about it when you had absolutely NO FACTS to back up your fake news bulls**t?
