President Trump shocked the internet on Wednesday, when he agreed with Democrat Rep. and frequent critic, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who recently asserted that the VA healthcare system is not in need of an overhaul.
“Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is correct, the VA is not broken, it is doing great,” said Trump, before pointing out, “But that is only because of the Trump Administration,” and noted, “We got Veterans Choice [and] Accountability passed.”

Trump’s remarks came in response to recent comments made by Ocasio-Cortez at a VA town hall event in New York, where she said “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” while accusing Republicans of trying to rig the VA in a way that doesn’t suit veterans.
“[Republicans] are trying to fix the VA for pharmaceutical companies, they are trying to fix the VA for insurance corporations, and, ultimately, they are trying to fix the VA for a for-profit healthcare industry that does not put people or veterans first,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
President Trump, however, pointed out in his tweet that his efforts towards overhauling the VA were praised by Dan Caldwell of watchdog group “Concerned Veterans of America.”
