Per Fox News “Tapper’s program averaged 2.8 million viewers in January but settled for only 706,000 in the 4 p.m. ET timeslot from May 31 through June 23, losing three-quarters of its audience in the process. Tapper’s second-quarter viewership is down 49% compared to the first quarter. ”
CNN gave Tapper an extra hour in April but the move does not seem to be paying off in the ratings department.
Meanwhile, CNN’s Brian Stelter has also struggled in viewership since Joe Biden has assumed the Presidency.
Stelter’s CNN show “Reliable Sources” had its worst performance of 2021 among the key 25-54 demographic in April and May.
The report notes that Stelter has now dubiously “set yearly lows in the cable news industry’s two most important categories during back-to-back episodes.”
