Monday night, Presidnet Trump responded to a tweet that reported “Senator Sanders will filibuster any attempt for the Senate to override Trump’s veto for the NDAA until a vote for the stimulus increase to $2000 is brought to the floor. This may force the Senate to stay in session until the New Year.”
Trump tweeted “Give the people $2000, not $600. They have suffered enough!”

Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer issued a statement Monday after the House passed legislation in support of increasing checks from $600 to $2000 with a 275-134 vote.
He said “tomorrow I will move to pass the legislation in the Senate to quickly deliver Americans with $2,000 emergency checks. Every Senate Democrat is for this much-needed increase in emergency financial relief, which can be approved tomorrow if no Republican blocks it – there is no good reason for Senate Republicans to stand in the way.”
“There’s strong support for these $2,000 emergency checks from every corner of the country — Leader McConnell ought to make sure Senate Republicans do not stand in the way of helping to meet the needs of American workers and families who are crying out for help,” he added.
