Trump doesn’t sign relief bill, continues to push for $2k checks, spending cuts

Saturday evening, President Trump continued to decline to sign the relief bill as is, continuing to push for $2k checks instead of $600 and reduced spending.

Trump retweeted a video of his criticisms of the bill from last week, writing “Increase payments to the people, get rid of the “pork”.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tweeted Christmas Eve “The bipartisan COVID relief & omnibus bill has been enrolled. The House & Senate are now sending this important legislation #ForThePeople to the White House for the President’s signature.”

“We urge him to sign this bill into law to give immediate relief to hard-working families!” she added.
