Trump Critics attack Republicans for ignoring Ginsburg’s “Dying Wish”

Several Trump critics on Twitter attacked Republicans after the confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett Monday evening for ignoring the “dying wish” of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

NPR reported days before her death Ginsburg told granddaughter Clara Spera “My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”

Senator Angus King wrote “Tonight’s outcome was pre-determined from the moment Mitch McConnell skipped past his shameful Merrick Garland precedent and ignored Justice Ginsburg’s dying wish – but that doesn’t make it any easier to stomach. My full statement:”

Bryan Behar wrote:

“Trump & McConnell took Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dying wish and they did the opposite.

We have the power to make them pay.”

Peter Morley wrote:

“BREAKING: Senate voted 52-48 to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to Supreme Court.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dying wish has been forsaken.”

Melissa Rosenberg wrote “literally feel sick that ruth bader ginsburg’s dying wish was ignored”

Justin Jones wrote:

“These senators are literally celebrating their disregard for Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dying wish and rushing in a replacement to take away people’s healthcare.

What manner of wickedness are we dealing with, as they hide behind the white sheets of “religiosity.”

We will not forget.”

Cory Booker wrote “Senate Republicans have violated processes, violated rules, violated their word and, most importantly, violated the will of the American people. This will go down as one of the darker moments in the history of the United States Senate.”

A Twitter user replied to Booker “And they defied Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dying wish.”
