Hours ahead of Trump and Biden’s first debate, Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh said in a statement “Joe Biden’s handlers several days ago agreed to a pre-debate inspection for electronic earpieces but today abruptly reversed themselves and declined. Biden’s handlers have asked for multiple breaks during the debate, which President Trump doesn’t need, so we have rejected that request.”
He added “On top of the refusal to take a drug test, it seems pretty obvious that the Biden team is looking for any safety net they can find in the hours leading up to the debate. With his 47 years as a failed Washington politician, how much help does Biden want?”
Biden’s deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield said in a statement “It is completely absurd. Of course, he’s not wearing an earpiece and we never asked for breaks.”
The Trump campaign wants the Biden campaign to allow a third party to inspect the ears of the debaters for electronic devices or transmitters. The President has consented to this inspection, but Biden has not – so far. (2/3)

Social media users reacted to the news of Trump’s camp requesting ear inspections.
Charlie Kirk wrote “If Joe Biden isn’t hiding anything why won’t he consent to a third party checking for an earpiece before tonight’s debate?”
Trump campaign Comms Director @TimMurtaugh said the Biden campaign agreed to an ear inspection for electronic transmitters before the debate days ago, but has since rejected the request.

Ahead of tonight's debate, Trump continues to set low expectations for Joe Biden – and if Biden delivers even a semi-competent performance, Trump is laying the groundwork to claim Biden somehow cheated by taking drugs or wearing an earpiece.
