Toomey admitted he doubts the Senate will have the votes to convict Trump

While Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey was one of the 6 Republican Senators to vote alongside Democrats that the impeachment trial was constitutional, he admitted during an earlier appearance that he doubts the Senate will actually convict Trump, which would require 17 Republican Senators to join Democrats.

Toomey told press “you did have 45 Republican senators vote to suggest that they didn’t think it was appropriate to conduct a trial, so you can infer how likely it is that those folks will vote to convict.”
