Texas standoff ends after suspect and third hostage exit home following 19 hours of negotiation

Moments ago the Cedar Park Police provided the following update on the Texas Standoff.

Three Cedar Park Police Officers were shot Sunday and taken to the hospital. The suspect was barricaded in their home with multiple officers at the scene.

9:00am UPDATE: The suspect and last hostage have come out of the home peacefully. The scene will continue to be active for quite a while as we investigate.

At the time, two hostages inside the Cedar Park home located on Natalie Cove were released.


According to Fox News, two of the officers shot at the home in Cedar Park, a suburb about 25 miles northwest of Austin, Sunday afternoon were released from the hospital early Monday in good condition. A third has entered surgery, and Cedar Park Police Chief Mike Harmon did not have an update on the officer’s condition.

Governor Greg Abbott issued the following statement yesterday:

“Our hearts are with the police officers who were injured while protecting the Cedar Park community this afternoon. We must never take for granted the service and sacrifice of our law enforcement officers, and the State of Texas stands ready to provide the support and resources needed to bring justice to those involved. I ask that all Texans join Cecilia and me in prayer for the these officers, and for the safety of all law enforcement officers across the state.”
