Stevie Wonder tells Oprah he plans to “move permanently” to Ghana

Appearing with Oprah Winfrey on her Apple TV show, singer Stevie Wonder revealed he plans to move to Ghana.

“I want to see this nation smile again. And I want to see it before I leave to travel to move to Ghana because I’m going to do that,” Wonder said.

Oprah asked Wonder if he really intends to make his move to Ghana permanent and Wonder said he was, suggesting his children will still face racism in the U.S.

“I don’t want to see my children’s, children’s children have to say “Oh please like me, please respect me, please know that I am important, please value me.” What is that?’

Wonder also said he believes life in America had become “more dangerous than ever before”, as the country had “allowed love to go out and negativity to come in.”
