Officer Tamarris L. Bohannon, who was shot in the head Saturday responding to a barricade situation, has died at the age of 29.
The St. Louis Police wrote on Twitter “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we report that our critically injured officer has died. We cannot express how much we appreciate the hospital staff who continuously treated both officers for their injuries. Thank you all for your continued thoughts & prayers!”
Bohannon is survived by a wife and three children and his family wrote a heartfelt letter posted Twitter by the police department.

The letter says “the loss of this great man is felt deeply within the St. Louis community and we ask for your prayers and support in the days ahead.”
According to the St. Louis Police, a 43-year old suspect was taken into custody after a lengthy stand-off with officers.
