Schumer fumes over Barrett confirmation, vows “My colleagues may regret this for a lot longer than they think”

Following the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer fumed and suggested the move was one Republicans may someday regret.

“The Republican majority is lighting its credibility on fire” Schumer said.

“The next time the American people give Democrats a majority in this chamber, you will have forfeited the right to tell us how to run that majority.”

“My colleagues may regret this for a lot longer than they think,” he added.

On Twitter, Schumer wrote “The truth is:  This nomination is part of a decades-long effort to tilt the courts towards the right to accomplish through the courts what Republicans could never accomplish through Congress”

“Democrats will never stop fighting for Americans’ health care and rights and freedoms,” he added.
