Schumer and Bernie share concern Trump will refuse to leave office if he loses to Biden

Saturday morning, Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer tweeted an article from Politico titled “Sanders: America must be prepared for when Trump refuses to leave office”

Schumer wrote “This is important: I’m standing side-by-side with @SenSanders to make sure we have a plan if President Trump refuses to leave office.”

In the article Sanders says “What we have got to do in the next two months is to alert the American people about what that nightmarish scenario might look like in order to prepare them for that possibility and talk about what we do if that happens.”

Sanders also tells Politico “This is not just idle speculation,” then referenced comments Trump has made “Trump was saying that the only way he could lose the election is if there was — let me get the exact quote — ‘the only way they can take this election away from us is if this is a rigged election.’ Now he is making that statement at a time when virtually every national poll has him behind.”

Ironically, Last month, it was Democratic party leader Hillary Clinton that urged Biden to build a massive legal operation and not concede “under any circumstances” as initial results come in.

Hillary Clinton says “We’ve got to have a massive legal operation, I know the Biden campaign is working on that”

She later says “This is a big organizational challenge but at least we know more about what they’re going to do and Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out and eventually I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch.

One Twitter user responded “The projection is amazing.. the same people who are warning that Trump won’t concede are on the record advising Biden not to concede.”

Asked by Chris Wallace if he’d commit to accepting election results in July, Trump answered “I have to see. Look … I have to see…No, I’m not going to just say yes. I’m not going to say no, and I didn’t last time either.”

Wallace also asked Trump if he was a good loser and Trump said he does not like to lose and does not lose often “But are you gracious?” Wallace asked.

“You don’t know until you see,” Trump replied “It depends. I think mail-in voting is going to rig the election. I really do.” Asked if he’s suggesting he might not accept the results of the election, Trump said, “I have to see.”
