On Thursday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders spoke with reporters regarding President Trump’s aborted meeting with Democrats, during which Trump made it clear that he was done negotiating until the continued investigations were concluded.
Less than an hour before the meeting, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi openly accused Trump of having engaged in a “cover up,” prompting the president to not only walk out of the meeting, but to admonish Democrats while speaking after the sit-down.
“It’s very hard to have a meeting where you accuse the President of the United States of a crime, and then an hour [later,] show up and act as if nothing has happened,” said the White House press secretary.
Sanders went on, “The idea of that is insane, I think to any normal person,” adding, “I don’t think if one of your colleagues accused you of a crime, then you’d sit down and work on a story with them and pretend as if that didn’t happen two minutes later.”

“How many times do we have to have a redo before the Democrats finally accept the conclusion?” Sanders asked of the Mueller report, and urged Democrat lawmakers to do their jobs of representing the American people.
