Friday evening, GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted:
Democrats are trying to steal the #CA25 special.
Corrupt election official @DCLogan waited until Friday evening before the election to announce a single new voting location in a Dem-heavy area.
Why? Dems demanded one.
Help @MikeGarcia2020 fight back!
Saturday morning, President Trump tweeted:
Governor @GavinNewsom of California won’t let restaurants, beaches and stores open, but he installs a voting booth system in a highly Democrat area (supposed to be mail in ballots only) because our great candidate, @MikeGarcia2020, is winning by a lot. CA25 Rigged Election!

Mike Garcia is a U.S. House candidate for district CA 25.
Garcia tweeted Friday:
1/@ChristyforCA25 and her liberal Dem allies didn’t say anything for weeks even though the polling places were in full view of the public. Even after every voter received a ballot, they are desperate and trying to change the rules to steal an election. We can’t let them succeed!!
2/The right to vote is sacred and something I fought to protect for nearly two decades. But our citizens should also expect a fair process free from political games.

Christy Smith, Mike Garcia’s opponent, responded to Trump, writing:
This president doesn’t want a majority African American, Latino community to vote. Is this the official position of his chosen candidate @MikeGarcia2020? In CA we believe in expansive voting rights. We also believe in states’ rights. Why don’t you Mr. President?

ABC7 reports Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an executive order Friday to send every registered voter in California a mail-in ballot for the November presidential election. The election won’t be vote-by-mail only; those who still want to vote in-person will be able to do so. The governor said detailed guidelines on how in-person voting will work are forthcoming.
California is the first state in the nation to commit to sending everyone mail-in ballots amid the coronavirus pandemic, said Secretary of State Alex Padilla. “There’s no safer, physically distancing, healthier way to exercise your right to vote than from the safety and convenience of your own home,” Padilla said.
