REPORT: Trump State Department preventing Biden from accessing messages from foreign leaders

According to a report from CNN citing anonymous sources, Trump’s state department led by Mike Pompeo is preventing Biden from accessing a stack of messages from foreign leaders.

Per CNN “Traditionally, the State Department supports all communications for the President-elect, which is why many countries began sending messages to State over the weekend. But with Biden prohibited from accessing State Department resources by the Trump administration, because President Donald Trump refuses to accept Biden’s victory, dozens of incoming messages have not been received.”

Biden has already held numerous calls with world leaders who have congratulated him.

These include cals with Canada’s Justin Trudeau, UK Prime Minster Boris Johnson, France’s Emmanuel Macron, Germany’s Angela Merkel, and Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Several Democrats expressed outrage after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said earlier this week during a contentious exchange with reporters “there will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration” with a smile and chuckle.

He the continued by saying “We’re ready. The world is watching what’s taking place. We’re gonna count all the votes. When the process is complete, there’ll be electors selected. There’s a process. The Constitution lays it out pretty clearly. The world should have every confidence that the transition necessary to make sure that the State Department is functional today … and successful with a president who’s in office on Jan. 20, a minute after noon, will also be successful.”
