REPORT: Trump asks Cruz to argue Texas election case against PA, WI, MI, GA

According to a Wednesday report in the NY Times, President Trump asked Ted Cruz to argue a Texas case seeking to overturn the election if the Supreme Court agrees to hear it.

The suit from Texas AG Ken Paxton challenges the Electoral College outcomes in 4 battleground states – Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and Georgia.

Cruz had previously offered to argue a separate Pennsylvania lawsuit brought to the SCOTUS focusing on mail-in ballots by Republicans Mike Kelly and Sean Parnell.

Cruz tweeted Wednesday “I’m disappointed the Court decided not to hear the case challenging the election results in PA. This appeal filed raised important & serious legal issues, & I believe the Court had a responsibility to ensure our elections follow the law & the Constitution.”
