According to a new report from Its Game 7, NBA viewership is down while UFC viewership is up.
NBA has made social and racial justice a major focus, with jerseys with social justice messages and “Black Lives Matter” literally written on the bubble court.
According to the report, NBA Playoff viewership has dropped from 2.39 million average viewers in 2019 to 1.68 million in 2020.
This represents a decline of roughly 30%.
Per Its Game “Meanwhile, the UFC’s four preliminary cards since the promotion returned from its COVID-inspired hiatus have done an average of 1.17 million viewers across ESPN and ESPN+. That number is up 30 percent from what pay-per-view preliminary cards did in 2019.”
UFC owner Dana White is a major Trump supporter and spoke at the RNC.
