REPORT: McConnell told Trump he thinks Amy Coney Barrett is the strongest choice to fill SCOTUS vacancy

According to a report from Yahoo News, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told President Trump via a phone call he thinks Judge Amy Coney Barrett is the strongest choice for SCOUTS nominee.

Barrett, who met with President Trump on Monday, now leads the betting markets by a large margin with Barbara Lagoa in second.

Trump has indicated he will make his announcement on his nominee to fill the vacancy left by Ginsburg on Saturday.

Barrett is a strong catholic and very well liked among Republicans and those in Trump’s circle.

Another advantage of Barrett is her vetting has already taken place since she was close to being the pick when Justice Kavanaugh was nominated.

Her faith was a concern for many Democrats and she was sharply questioned by Dick Durbin and Dianne Feinstein when she was confirmed to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in a 55-43 Senate vote in 2017.
