Top Democrats are moving towards impeaching President Trump a second time after hundreds of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol building Wednesday, leading to multiple deaths.
Pelosi has suggested Democrats would move to impeaching Trump if Pence and White House cabinet members did not move to remove Trump by invoking the 25th amendment.
If Trump is successfully impeached, even after his term ends, he would be ineligible to run again in 2024.
According to The Hill, Pelosi said on a call Friday afternoon “the President chose to be an insurrectionist,.”
She added “impeachment encourages conversation on the 25th Amendment. That’s picked up a lot of steam. How we go forward is a subject for this caucus.”
